Glossary/Link Rotation

Link Rotation

The automatic distribution of clicks across multiple destination URLs based on weighted percentages, used for A/B testing, offer balancing, and multi-advertiser traffic distribution.

Extended Definition

Link rotation (also called traffic splitting, link splitting, or weighted distribution) sends each click to a different destination based on configured percentages. For example, a 50/50 rotation sends half your clicks to Offer A and half to Offer B.

Common Use Cases

  • A/B testing — Test two landing pages to see which converts better
  • Offer balancing — Distribute traffic across multiple advertisers to avoid exceeding caps
  • Risk diversification — Don't put all your traffic on one offer that might pause or change terms
  • Gradual migration — Shift traffic from an old offer to a new one (90/10 → 70/30 → 50/50 → 0/100)

How GeoRedir Handles Link Rotation

GeoRedir implements link rotation through traffic split rules. Create two or more rules with percentage weights, and GeoRedir randomly distributes visitors according to those weights. Combined with A/B Testing, GeoRedir measures statistical significance and can automatically shift traffic to the winning variant.
