Glossary/Deep Link

Deep Link

A URL that points to a specific page, product, or piece of content within an app or website, rather than the homepage or a generic landing page.

Extended Definition

A deep link takes the visitor directly to the relevant content instead of making them navigate from a homepage. In affiliate marketing, deep linking means sending visitors to the exact product page, pricing page, or signup form — not the advertiser's homepage.

For example:

  • Shallow link: https://vpn-provider.com/ (homepage — visitor must find the pricing page)
  • Deep link: https://vpn-provider.com/pricing/annual?coupon=SAVE20 (exact pricing page with coupon applied)

Deep links significantly improve conversion rates because they reduce friction. The fewer clicks between the ad and the conversion action, the more people complete it.

In mobile contexts, deep links can also open specific screens within a native app (iOS Universal Links, Android App Links), bypassing the mobile browser entirely.

How GeoRedir Handles Deep Links

GeoRedir's redirect destinations can be any URL — including deep links to specific product pages, app store listings, or in-app content. Combined with device routing, you can send iOS users to an App Store deep link, Android users to a Google Play deep link, and desktop users to a website deep link — all from one smart link.
